The Smart Operator™ system is suitable for training operators in many industries including petrochemicals, plastics, mining, power and utilities, chemicals and manufacturing.

Petromin Training & Performance Support Systems Pty. Ltd. develop innovative training and simulation systems based on cognitive modeling principles. Our tutors and simulations provide a learning environment that is driven by human learning abilities and not solely the latest computer or multimedia capabilities.

These systems impart the skills required for competency-based performance and increase the quality and quantity of learning. These programs are adaptive to the trainee's existing knowledge and are interactive during the training process. The purpose is to allow the trainee to learn the concepts and abstractions that underlie the rules and principles of a real-world task. We aim to use technology to reduce training costs and operational errors.

We have built a suite of personal computer-based training and simulation systems to train operators in the process control industries. Our tutors and dynamic simulations allow process control operators to practice fundamental operational skills in a realistic and safe environment. Several innovative features are included such as a jobs-oriented simulation system and user-selectable feedback from an expert system. These training products are suitable for industries such as hydrocarbons and oils, power and utilities, manufacturing, mining and non-metallic minerals. The systems can also be further customised for specific industries and individual plants.

Petromin Training & Performance Support Systems Pty. Ltd have a team of process engineers and trainers, cognitive scientists, knowledge-based system developers, programmers and multimedia developers. We also offer a consultancy service for the development of custom built computer-based training products.
